Lolita San Miguel is one of Puerto Rico's leading cultural figures with a distinguished career as a ballerina, educator, choreographer and director. She has taught at the Dance Theatre of Harlem, Performing Arts High School, Clark Center for the Performing Arts and the Metropolitan Opera Company. Ms San Miguel was trained by Carola Trier and Joseph H. Pilates during the 60's and is especially proud of being one of two people certified by Mr. Pilates. Ms. San Miguel recently founded Pilates Y Mas Inc., studio for the purpose of teaching, training, and certifying professionals in the Pilates method. Ms. San Miguel is a respected First Generation Teacher of the Pilates Method Alliance™. |
Julian Littleford

British born Julian Littleford moved to San Diego to open J.L. Body Conditioning, Inc. in 1990 after spending eight years in New York City as a principal dancer with the Martha Graham Dance Company, where he worked with Mikhail Baryshnikov and the late Rudolf Nureyev.
He is featured in "Who's Who in America" and has performed with Martha Clarke's "Garden of Earthly Delights" and the Toronto Dance Theater in Canada. Julian originally studied the Pilates method in England with Alan Herdman. He was one of Mr. Herdman's original teachers in his London studio during the late 1970's. In New York, he worked for and trained with Deborah Lessen at Greene Street Studio.
He is a founding member of the Physical Mind Institute in New York City and gold certified through the Pilates Method Alliance. He directs the Pilates training at Pilates de Mexico, in Mexico City and was the Director of Pilates for the San Diego Padres baseball team. He was the athletic trainer for Cirque du Soleil's Dralion touring show in Southern California. He continues to present and guest teach throughout the world. He is a regular presenter for Balanced Body University "Pilates on tour", "Pilates Method Alliance", "Pilates Style Magazine", and "Dance Teacher" conferences.
He has been featured in numerous regional and international fitness and health magazines, and television shows. |

Rebecca Elizabeth Leone a Pilates PMA Gold certified teacher and owner of Pilates Powerhouse NW in Seattle. Since entering the Pilates industry in 2001, Rebecca has non-stop continued her Pilates education and since 2003 has been sharing her wisdom with ever wider and more diverse national audiences.
Rebecca is a Pilates continuing education provider and has presented at Pilates Method Alliance Educational Conferences since 2004, at the PilatesStyle Summer Conference for the first time in 2006, and at Ice Skating Institute and Professional Skating Association national conferences in 2003 and 2004.
Since completing her classical Pilates training in 2001, she continues her education through coursework and workshops with each other of the First Generation Pilates Masters as well as the Michele Larsson, Kevin Bowen and other industry leaders. She is certified by the University of Washington in Sports Medicine and Human Performance. Rebecca is sought-after public speaker and is well-known for teaching to the strength of the work.
Prior to entering the Pilates industry, Rebecca worked as a business manager. Going back to 1981, she assisted lawyers, doctors and accountants in everyday business and office management and also freelanced for more than ten years providing accounting and general business management services to diverse clients. Her experience includes creating and managing budgets, project management, payroll through annual taxes, payables and receivables and database design and construction. |
Michele Larsson

Michele Larsson, founder of Core Dynamics Pilates, is a former dancer and choreographer, who trained in NYC at the Julliard School of Music. In 1981, she received a BA in Holistic Health and Dance Theater from Antioch University.
In 1982, after 12 years of study with Eve Gentry, Ms. Larsson began teacher training under her guidance. She spent months working with Ms. Gentry, observing individual clients, studying anatomy, kinesiology and student teaching. She worked as an associate teacher with Eve Gentry for 9 years prior to the founding of the Institute for the Pilates Method in June 1991. Since that time, she has taken workshops from other master teachers including Carola Trier, Bruce King, Kathleen Stanford-Grant and Ron Fletcher. In 1996 she founded Core Dynamics, Inc. a teacher training organization and studio.
Ms. Larsson currently travels worldwide, giving advanced workshops and conducting teacher training. She focuses her teaching and workshops on problem solving techniques that use Pilates to enhance whole body health.

Michael Collins came to pilates from an athletic background,I played ice hockey right thru aaa juniors, spent 5 years in the marine corps in a special operations unit, then spent the next 20 years as a professional rock climbing and mountaineering guide. he began doing pilates in the 1990's to help ease the pain of past injuries and have dedicated the last ten years to the teaching and practice of pilates in his Santa Fe, New Mexico studio. He has a gold certified with the pma, and has taught classes at several of their conferences, as well as taught workshops in Singapore, Wyoming ,Oregon and New Mexico. |

Kevin A. Bowen was the Co-founder, immediate past President and former Executive Director of the Pilates Method Alliance (PMA), the owner of Pilates Miami and Director of The Pilates Education Group. He has been actively involved in the Pilates community for more than 14 years and an outspoken proponent of the many benefits associated from the Pilates method of exercise and the pursuit of a holistic lifestyle. Kevin has been featured on CNN and the Discovery Channel and a contributor to numerous articles on the Pilates method. He is also actively involved in lobbying for health care reform. He is regarded both in the United States and internationally as an advocate and authority for the professional Pilates community. |

Brent Anderson PhD, PT, OCS is President and CEO of Polestar Pilates, the world’s foremost Pilates training and certification organization and operator of the Polestar Pilates Center in Miami -- one of the nation’s largest and most comprehensive Pilates center offering services from rehabilitation to fitness.
A licensed Physical Therapist and Orthopedic Certified Specialist for more than 13 years, Anderson is a leading authority in performing arts medicine and Pilates-evolved techniques for rehabilitation. Anderson lectures widely at national and international symposia and consults with physical therapy companies, universities, and other educational bodies throughout the world.
Anderson received his degree in physical therapy at University of California, San Francisco in 1989, and his PhD in Physical Therapy at the University of Miami in 2005. He currently serves as adjunct faculty at the University of Miami, Division of Physical Therapy. His doctoral thesis explored the impact of Pilates rehabilitation on chronic low back pain using psycho-emotional wellness and quality of life measures. He has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 1987 and he formerly served as President of its Performing Arts Special Interest Group. Anderson is also a longtime member of the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science.
In 2005 he served on the PMA Pilates Certification Exam National Panel to improve the quality of Pilates Instruction. Currently he is a member of the PMA Certification Board.
